Human Remains Found At Vulcan Identified

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Skeletal remains discovered near Vulcan Trail March 24 have been identified as 62-year-old Ted Dewitt Stephenson of Birmingham. The discovery was made by a walker that evening in some woods off the trail. Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates said the body had likely been at the location for a couple of weeks, but the cause of death is still uncertain. Yates said nothing at the scene immediately indicated foul play. Anyone with information on Stephenson or his family is asked to contact the coroner's office at 205-930-3603.
