White Cap Supply Holdings is commonly referred to simply as White Cap. Job Summary Supervise the day-to-day operations of the inside sales function. Ensure that customers and outside sales staff receive prompt and efficient service. Primarily by phone, place sales orders, request sales quotes, inquire about product availability, and ask other sales and service related questions. Provide the highest level of customer service possible while maximizing sales and gross profit. Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities • Reviews estimates, quotes and sales orders written by the inside sales staff. Provides input to performance of inside sales staff. Provides instruction and assigns duties to associates. Administers guidelines for consistent quoting. Follows-up with customers to ensure satisfaction. • Ensures that the inside sales staff receives adequate training in the following areas: computer systems, sales SOPs, product knowledge, sales techniques and relevant operations SOPs. • Assist inside sales staff in resolving problems associated with customer service, product availability, price, product warranty and product delivery. • Creates PO's using line disposition. Follows up on all sales orders, back orders, and special orders to ensure full shipment. Reviews the Back Order Report daily and expedites any pending back orders. • Researches and prepares sales orders and quotes for customers and outside sales staff according to the specifications and information provided. Provides customers and outside sales staff with reliable information regarding product specifications, product suitability, pricing and availability. • Keep outside sales staff informed about all business activity that has transpired with account base. • Works at the sales counter to serve in-store customers as assigned. Contributes to add-on sales by maintaining a high level of product knowledge. Maintains product knowledge through independent study and by attending all assigned product knowledge meetings and workshops. Handles customer inquiries and problem resolution when an outside salesperson is not available. Nature and Scope • Experience provides solutions. • Ensures that work is performed consistently with company policies and procedures. • Leads a group or team of support, craft, or lower level professional associates. Work Environment • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable. • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles. • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time. Education and Experience • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 5+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.
