So don't hesitate to apply :) Job Data: Job Title: Technician Assistant Department: Service Department, Latus Motors Supervisor: Assistant Service Manager/Shop Foreman/Service Manager Summary Description: Technician Assistant is the main support role for all Service Operations. They are available to Assistant Service Manager, Shop Foreman, Technicians and Service Advisors for help in all and any tasks needing to be performed to assist with department efficiency. The core of these tasks are moving motorcycles to directed areas, washing motorcycles, test riding motorcycles, retrieving parts, cleaning service area, helping load and unload motorcycles and picking up and delivering motorcycles. Main Functions: • Perform needed tasks for Assistant Service Manager, Shop Foreman, Technicians and Service Advisors. • Moving, washing, loading, unloading, riding and transporting motorcycles. • Cleaning and maintaining service areas functionality. • Retrieving, confirming accuracy and organizing of parts. • Abiding by all Service Department processes and safety regulations. Major Duties and Responsibilities: • Moving motorcycles from storage upstairs to the service area downstairs using the elevator. • Staging motorcycles in service area that are in que for Technicians to work on. • Retrieving parts for newly dispatched repair orders. • Test riding motorcycles as directed by Assistant Service Manager or Technician. • Unafraid to ask questions to achieve highest quality of work possible. • Washing motorcycles after work has been completed to Latus Motors standards. • Inform Shop Foreman of all parts found loose on motorcycles while being washed. • Helping customers load or unload their motorcycles when picking up or dropping off. • Driving company vehicles to pick up or drop off motorcycles for service work. • Maintaining cleanliness of service area, including but not limited to; sweeping all areas, wiping down cabinets and counters, removing tires and empty oil containers, recycling boxes, emptying garbage, organizing and storing take off parts. • Willingness and enthusiasm to learn technical information about our brand. Commitments: • Treat all employees and customers fairly, courteously and with dignity • Maintain positive relationships with customers, other employees and owners • Be early to your shift so you are ready to work as soon as it begins. • Be flexible and available to work longer hours in the summer months. • Maintain up to date technical training • Focus on Quality & Service • Be neat and clean • Wear uniform every day • Demonstrate an interest in growing the dealerships business Qualifications and Job Requirements: • Technician and mechanical aptitude. • Desire to pursue career in motorcycle industry preferred. • Ability to obtain and maintain state driver license with motorcycle endorsement • Clean driving record • Ability to pass background and drug screens. Subject to random drug screens. Marijuana is tolerated. • General understanding of mechanical/technical terms. • High school diploma or GED equivalent Graduation from Tech program preferred but not required. Physical Demands: • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate • Requires the use of both hands • Frequently required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, handle tools and lift in excess of 80lbs. of material • Frequently requires the ability to balance and push an 800 lb. motorcycle. Working Conditions: • Frequently works near moving mechanical parts • Is potentially exposed to battery acid, gasoline, chemical cleaning material or other toxic materials commonly found in motor vehicle service departments, some of which may be considered health hazards • Occasionally, exposed to exhaust fumes or other airborne particles
