I too grew up around Republicans in a town that is still highly religious and because a military town mostly Republicans. I agree. The Republican Party with the current Republican elected officials are no longer the same party. The decent Republicans did not run again or are no longer choosing to run because if Trumps Party. That is what the Republican Party has become. Voter suppression and blatant lies and undermining of lawful protections have been committed byTrump and his cronies and by the R party which is bad enough. But to see Republican voters or citizens continue to believe the lies simply because they vote R and continue to submit themselves to the propaganda smear campaign of Democrats by fox and other right wing groups is disheartening. The Supreme Court and other high courts put Trump in his place finding no voter fraud meaning of course Trump lied. Instead of accepting This truth, Republicans let Trump commit treason and insurrection with no repercussions no impeachment. Now they are disenfranchising voters. Our right to vote as we choose is the essence of a democratic society. The Republican Party has become a party of control power and greed at any cost. Period. American citizens get involved. Whether you join the Democratic Party or not don’t vote or re-elect Trump supporters or for officials that are working to undermine its own citizenry.
