Grounds Worker NATURE OF WORK Homeowners Association in East Windsor, NJ is hiring a Grounds Worker. This position is under the supervision of the Facilities Supervisor and performs a variety of routine manual tasks in the maintenance and appearance of the grounds, walkways and roads. Such tasks at times require medium to heavy physical effort in all types of weather. A Grounds Worker usually works as a member of a crew performing gardening and general ground maintenance tasks. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Uses a variety of hand and power tools including saws, lawnmowers, string line trimmers, hand-held and back-pack blowers, sidewalk edgers and walk behind mowers in the cutting trimming and cleaning of turf areas, recreational areas, parking lots, roadways and lakes. • Performs a variety of other manual tasks not requiring special knowledge or skills associated with maintaining the condition and appearance of grounds such as policing the grounds for litter, removing debris, branches, etc. by sweeping, raking, shoveling and removal by hand. • Clears and prepares shrub, tree and flower beds by removing debris and weeds. Cuts new bed edges and then installs shredded hardwood mulch. • May operate small utility vehicles. • Snow plowing • Completes other duties as assigned. JOB REQUIREMENTS • Must have Driver’s License & Drivers Abstract. • Ability to communicate clearly with Managers and other personnel. • Ability to perform medium to heavy manual labor, to include reaching, bending and lifting up to 40 lbs. • Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools and motorized equipment. • 40-hour work week Monday – Friday 7:30 am – 4:00 pm KNOWLEDGE OF ITEMS BELOW ARE A PLUS • Kubota RTV • Kubota zero turn mower • Bobcat skid steer • String trimmer • Electric chainsaw • Hedge trimmer • Wood chipper • Sidewalk edger • Backhoe • Carpentry skills • Masonry skills BENEFITS PACKAGE • Medical (minimal contribution from employee) • Dental, Vision and Life Insurance paid by employer • 401(k) – 3% discretionary employer contribution • Paid vacation, two personal days, sick time, holidays and birthday
