Machine Shop Operator $15/hr + Full Benefits

Job Description The employee will cut steel bars to length using an abrasive chop saw, deburr the parts using belt sanders and wire wheel machines, then surface grind the parts to finished size Also will operate a bandsaw for cutting material to size, and then load parts into a CNC milling machine for additional machining. Additional duties as experience allows Relevant experience will receive special consideration, however no experience required, willing to train the right candidate. Skills we will train: *Manual machining - metal cutting, drilling, grinding, milling *Surface Grinding *CNC mill operating *CNC profile grinding Requirements/Qualifications *Fluency in written and spoken English *Ability to read a ruler, caliper, or other measuring devices in fractions or decimals *Ability to see close to visually inspect work *Physical stamina to stand 8-10 hours a day, occasionally lift or move up 50+ lbs, crouch, kneel, bend or move as needed throughout the day *Works well with a small team of coworkers – operating shared equipment, working together to accomplish department goals *Desire to keep a clean/neat working environment - willingness to pitch in to keep the shop area clean Hours Monday - Friday • 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM 40+ Hours, overtime hours available and often necessary Benefits • Competitive pay • Health insurance (100% of premium paid for employee) with dental and vision supplemental available • Paid vacations and holidays (In first year will accumulate 8 paid holidays, 10 vacation days, 5 sick days) • 401k • Company paid life insurance THE MOST IMPORTANT ASPECT OF THIS JOB IS RELIABILITY Connecticut Saw and Tool 140 Avon Street Stratford, CT 0661
