In larger areas horizontal lines help form the area. Mass: In design, mass is a measure of visual size of the layout of the area. Form: refers to the shapes of objects in any type of landscape. Texture: is built from the shape and thickness of the plants Adding different textures influence the overall look. To create ideal textural settings, landspacers may vary plants so there is a change in density, light and shadow across certain locations in the yard. Color: is important to add pops to your space. Color impacts the viewer’s mood. It is best to choose between either a warm (orange, red, yellow) or cool (purple, blue, green) color scheme with most of your plants.
