Free and Open to the publicA 2.2-mile ruck march/walk (backpacks are optional) will take place on Saturday, April 17, 2021, around the Fondy Soccer Complex adjacent to Moraine Park's Fond du Lac campus. The walk begins and ends in the B-1 parking lot located just off of Campus Drive, Fond du Lac, WI., and a free lunch will follow the walk. This event, sponsored by the student veteran organizations from Moraine Park Technical College, Marian University, and the University of Oshkosh, is intended to raise awareness about the high veteran suicide rate and honor those who have lost their lives too soon. The event is free and open to the public, although donations are appreciated. Proceeds help fund this and future events and provide assistance to Salute the Troops of WI and the Student Veteran Organizations of Fond du Lac to continue the mission of serving local veterans and raising awareness of veteran suicide.
