Description

You did it! You found your lost garbage! I can't tell you how much sleep I have lost worrying my way through the past week-ish wondering if you and your garbage would be reunited, whew! The saga is over! You found it, and took it with you, to enjoy at your house, I hope. You should really be more careful in the future so as not to lose your garbage. The going rate charged for high dollar garbage like they have down in the big city (Seattle) is roughly $100 per ton and I'm guessing your garbage pile was in the neighborhood of 400-500lbs so twenty five dollars of garbage there, yep! Not too shabby, and certainly worth keeping it close at hand. Someone could have easily driven down NF Road and stumbled across your garbage and loaded it up in their truck then POOF! You lose your garbage forever, which is a long time! This would have been a very sad ending to your lost garbage story problem. I wish I could have been there to witness the emotions, the tears, the sweat, the smells, and maybe even a little blood as that washing machine sheet metal looked awfully sharp. I can't imagine the effort it took to stuff all of it back in your white van. Let me guess- you are a professional mover? You must be to have the skills to get that whole pile back in your van. Every nook and cranny must have been utilized. You get it in one trip? I bet you can ace every spatial relations / ability test on the planet, blindfolded. I have to confess something here, I can’t take credit for you finding your garbage….. I may have located it, but I was too chicken (can’t perform my day job with a gunshot wound) to knock on your door the day I found your garbage and so I enlisted the assistance of those friendly people in the red trucks you see wandering through Washington forests. Yes, the Washington Department of Natural Resources! They are so helpful. I contacted the polite people in the Sedro Woolley DNR office and they assured me they would help! Now public agencies do sometimes get a bad rap for passing you from one desk to another when asking for assistance. But not the WA DNR, they got right after it! Fortunately you had a sweet Safeway grocery basket and a 5lb dumbbell in your garbage pile and I was able to leave your empty amazon packages and other mail items in the basket with the weight on top and the DNR officer retrieved them! I imagine you might have met one or two of them? I hope you thanked them for the assistance in locating your garbage. They are certainly not a lost and found agency, so maybe even a little something in their tip jar would have been appropriate….though I can understand if you were a little mentally strewn out that day and forgot the tip. Anyhow, back to work. Congratulations on finding your garbage! Such a happy ending to what must have been real emotional roller coaster for you, please do keep a better eye on your garbage in the future!
