Sand Springs Public Schools -- Employment Custodian Sand Springs, Oklahoma We are currently accepting applications for a custodial opening, beginning immediately. 10-month contract with possibility of extra duties during 2 summer months. Baseline pay of $10.92/hr minimum, but previous experience will be considered for higher rate. Benefits after 45 day probationary period. Position Summary: Perform routine custodial duties at assigned school during an assigned shift; clean classrooms, restrooms, shower/locker rooms, corridors, and other assigned areas. Move and arrange furniture and equipment; set-up and assemble chairs, tables, and other furniture and equipment for special events and activities; clean up furniture, equipment and debris following these events. Assist with ground maintenance and snow removal activities as required. Clean light fixtures, windows, walls, furniture, blinds, carpet and other related items. Strip, scrub, and refinish floors; frequency and timing to be determined by Site Head Custodian. Operate custodial equipment such as vacuums, mops, carpet cleaners, and blowers as assigned. Job Requirements: Dependability and professionalism regarding assigned duties and work schedules. Must have excellent communication and “people” skills. Previous custodial/cleaning experience preferred, but not required Must pass standard background check Physical Demands: Specific physical characteristics and abilities are required to perform the work such as dexterity of hands and fingers, walk or stand for extended periods of time, bending, kneeling, twisting, and reaching overhead, above shoulders, and horizontally, lift and carry supplies and equipment weighing 50 pounds, and push or pull moderately heavy objects.
