Hello! We are Music City San Francisco, a unique company with a mission to foster artistic facilities and communities. We are looking for a talented Maintenance Worker to assist with work at our Hotel and Hostel located in San Francisco, CA. This is a part-time temporary position of 2-3 days per week intended to end in roughly 2 months time after we complete some improvement projects including painting and turning over units. To be clear: This is a hired position and not a 1099 (unless you can provide your own insurance). Our business entities include a Hotel/Hostel, several residential properties, and a fully equipped Music Rehearsal business. The Maintenance technician works closely with all aspects of the businesses and entities within them, including General Manager, Housekeeping, Front Desk, and the owner, to ensure that all maintenance, repair, and special project needs are met. We are looking for someone who is a great communicator and also skilled and experienced in the maintenance and repair of systems and aspects of commercial and/or multi unit residential properties. Job Duties Include: - Performs routine carpentry duties, including installation of new doors and installation or repairs of doorjambs, moldings, hinges, door closers, locks, knobs, etc. Also, may include drywall or plaster repair and painting duties. - Performs routine plumbing duties, including unclogging sinks and toilets, repair of faucet, assemblies and replacement of washers etc. - Performs work to repair and maintain mechanical equipment, including, door lock systems, heating and air conditioning and more. Diagnoses problems. Disassembles units, cleans, lubricates, repairs, and replaces parts. - Performs or assigns preventive maintenance duties. - Painting - Pays attention and anticipates potential safety hazards, keeps educated on safety regulations including OSHA. Requirements: - Requires a high school diploma, GED (General Educational Development), or equivalent. May have additional 5 years of experience to the required experience below in order to offset educational requirements. - Trade Certifications a plus - Requires a self-motivated, team-player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills when working with many aspects of a highly varied business. - Must be neat, meticulous and pay attention to regulations and details when completing tasks. - May be required to work flexible schedule including over-time, nights, weekends, and on-call.
