Here’s an overview: —elimination of half the personal income tax —raise sales tax to 8.5% —raise hotel/motel state tax to 4.3% (on top of local taxes, so you’d pay 20% tax exempt on a hotel room) —establish a food tax of 2.5% —include professional services at a tax rate of 3% —raise the tobacco tax by $1/pack —unnamed budget cuts —paves way for recreational marijuana but doesn’t enact it It was released to lobbyists and out of state groups before being shared with those of us in the Senate. Yet it will be considered in committee today.
