Description
Anybody looking for barn cats? I help people out by trapping and fixing feral cats around the Jackson & Banks County areas. The ideal situation is to release the cats back to where they were originally living--when they are fixed, they won't fight, mate, spray, or reproduce, so they aren't nearly as much of a nuisance as they are when unfixed.
Unfortunately, cats are not always able to come back to where they were originally, so I sometimes end up with cats that need to be relocated. Any that are able to be tamed, I look for indoor homes for, of course, but sometimes I have ones that are not suitable for pet life. I try to adopt these out in bonded pairs, because they are less likely to leave the area if they have a companion with them. These guys are fixed, accustomed to living outdoors, and are basically looking for a place to stay where they can be fed regularly. You will need to keep them confined (either in a dog crate with a litterbox or in a barn) for a few weeks until they get used to their new territory, but once they are settled, they will help prevent rodent infestation and also discourage new cats from moving into the area.
If you are interested in getting barn cats or shop cats for your property or would like more information, please send over an email! I live in downtown Commerce but am willing to drive to drop them off at your property and I'm happy to loan you a crate & supplies if you need them for the acclimation period. I've fixed over 100 cats since last September! If you are interested in donating to help fix more cats, here is a link: https://linktr.ee/many.splendored.rat
