Square Grouper Snorkel specializes in small group and private tours of Lauderdale-By-The-Sea's beautiful coral reef. Square Grouper Snorkel is hiring a Boat Captain to help expand operations into boating trips. You must have a 6 Pack Captain license. We are especially interested in anyone with First Aid, CPR, Lifeguard, Dive instructor/master, or any other medical training. Applicants with customer service, hospitality, and entertainment experience are also urged to apply. Boat Captain Responsibilities: -Safely Captain customers -Greet all guests promptly at scheduled tour times -Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the boat -Outline Safety information -Determine if any guests have physical restrictions that should be considered and remove guest that do not meet tour requirements -Clearly and articulately provide information to guests in an engaging manner -Answer any questions that the guests have -Demonstrate extensive knowledge of the reef and related topics -Remain calm, friendly, and enthusiastic at all times -If needed, Provided life saving actions on guest in distress or injured -Ensure the safety of the guest -BE PERSONABLE -Speak loudly and clearly -Helps tourist learn -Relays accurate information -Continues to learn and improve -Act professionally Boat Captain Requirements: -Must have a 6 Pack Captain's license. -Experience in customer service preferred -Experience with public speaking is a plus -Able to memorize and recite facts clearly and accurately -Fluent in English; bilingual a plus -EXCEPTIONAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS -Must have Positive Body Language -Must be comfortable working long hours outside -Must be able to lift 40 pounds -Basic computer skills -Flexible schedule If you are interested in being considered for this position please answer the questions below and either email or text your response.
