ISO companion for 6-mo GSD puppy

We are looking for a companion for our 6 month old German shepherd, who is very friendly, social and active. We live in Seattle and have a big yard and often frequent dog parks. Our dog loves spending most of her time outside and playing with other dogs and it's obvious she would be so happy with a canine playmate and friend (she occasionally attempts to play with the cats). Would prefer a medium-sized dog that is fixed. That said, would also be open to a male German shepherd.
