30-Year-Old Man In Custody After A Deadly Car Crash In Quincy

QUINCY, MA — Police reported to 24th shortly after midnight after a disturbance call involving a person in a black vehicle that had left the scene. They reported a 2014 black Ford heading eastbound on Maine Street at 24th. The driver accelerated at a high rate of speed but the police followed the vehicle at a moderate speed as opposed to starting a hot pursuit. The car continued eastbound on Maine Street and eventually entered the intersection at 30th and Maine where the car hit a 2006 BMW that was heading north, killing the driver. The driver of the BMW was identified as Matthew Ballard, 42, who died shortly after the crash. The reckless driver of the black Ford, Harrison Hardimon, was sent to Blessing hospital in an ambulance due to some critical injuries. He was later taken into custody and brought into the Adams County Jail, according to the police. Hardimon will now be facing 4 charges which include aggravated reckless driving, reckless homicide, no valid driver's license, and disobeying a traffic control device, as reported by the police.
