A rally to make your voices heard. #StopAsianHate #StopAAPIHate #LoveComesInAllColors
As six of eight victims of the shooting are Asian, the suspect gunman at Atlanta shooting is likely racially motivated. Against the backdrop of the past year’s anti-Asian rhetoric and a sharp increase in hate incidences during the COVID-19 pandemic, these senseless killings of the suspect gunman raise alarms on both Asian American communities and the nation as a whole on visible and invisible discrimination against people of Asian heritage. The list piles up as we review the anti-Asian racism in U.S. history: the Page Act of 1875, Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882, the Immigration Act of 1924 and Asiatic Barred Zone, countless lynchings against persons of Asian Heritage, the Internment of Japanese Americans, and the 1992 Los Angeles riots, etc. We need to #StopAsiaHate.
Here are the time and venue of the rally:
Time: 3:30pm - 5pm, Saturday, April 3, 2021
