Your Arlington Last Updated: 29 March 2021 Written by Patch MassDOT plans to put into effect temporary lane closings on the ramp from Route 2 East to Alewife Station in Arlington to repair the bridge over Alewife Brook. The closings are to begin Monday, March 29, and are anticipated to continue through June 30. This will include alternating closures of the left lane and right lane, depending on the work being conducted. YourArlington partner Patch reported March 24 that the three phases of the bridge-repair operations, the schedule of work and the specific lane closures will be as follows: Phase 1 from Monday, March 29, through Monday, May 17, requiring closing the left side of the ramp; Phase 2 from Tuesday, May 18, to Thursday, June 17, requiring closing the right side of the ramp; and Phase 3 from Friday, June 18, to Wednesday, June 30, requiring closing the left side of the ramp. Drivers who are traveling through the area should reduce speed and use caution. YourArlington.com has provided news and opinion about Arlington, Mass., since 2006.
