NEWARK, NJ — A Newark man died in a car crash last weekend on the New Jersey Turnpike, authorities said. According to a spokesperson for the New Jersey State Police, Jose Minaya, 34, suffered fatal injuries during a crash on Sunday morning in Ridgefield Park. "Based on a preliminary investigation, a Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling south on the [turnpike] in the area of milepost 118, when it struck the center concrete barrier before striking the right guardrail and overturning," the spokesperson said. "There were no other vehicles involved and the crash remains under investigation." No additional information was immediately available.
