BRIGHTON, CO — After an 11-year-old boy heard about the deadly mass shooting at a Boulder grocery store, he thought of the employees who had to return to work in Colorado stores, his mother said. JJ Witmer told his mother that he wanted "to do something," The Washington Post reported. JJ used his dog-walking money to buy roses and carnations for grocery store workers in Brighton, which is a 20 minute drive from the King Soopers where the gunman opened fire. With his mother in tow, JJ asked the King Soopers store manager if he could give out the flowers to workers, and JJ was granted permission, according to the report. "They were really thankful. Lots of them were crying and giving me first bumps and air hugs," JJ told The Washington Post. "It made me feel so good.
