Parkside Behavioral Health presents: Next Step (girls only)
A class for girls in 6th-9th grade to feel empowered, confident, and self aware
The tweenage years can be confusing. There are quite a few topics that young girls may not feel comfortable talking to their parents about. Let Parkside Behavioral Health get the conversation started for them (and you).
One of the main goals of this group is for girls to identify healthy coping skills and engage in activities that will empower them toward confidence and healthy communication with friends and family. With a different topic every week, the sessions can be attended based on your interest in a topic. However, we recommend that your child attends all 6 sessions to get the most out of the course.
Week 1: Emotions: what are they and why are they important?
Week 2: Self-acceptance and confidence
Week 3: Coping with stress and Anxiety: Mindfulness
Week 4: Anger
Week 5: Relationship boundaries and communication
Week 6: Decision–making
