This year marks the 63rd ride for the Hashknife Pony Express, which is the oldest officially sanctioned Pony Express in the world.
This year, the Hashknife Pony Express Arrival festivities will take place at Scottsdale Stadium with a reimagined format designed for fun and safety while recognizing this important element of Scottsdaleโs heritage.
Upon arrival, guests will be met with the passionate sounds of Arizona-based all-female mariachi group, Mariachi Pasion. They can then peruse the concourse alive with Western decor, shop authentic Hashknife Pony Express merchandise, and enjoy Western-themed strolling entertainment such as a Western ball walker, cowboy clown, balloon artist, and a Scottsdale favorite โ Gary Sprague, otherwise known as the Singing Cowboy, and his beloved horse Dusty.
As guests make their way into the stadium itself, seating is appropriately designated to ensure social distancing. On the fieldโs main stage, the Herndon Brothers along with an array of talented line dancers will entertain the crowd. At high noon, upon completion of their 200-mile trek from Holbrook, Arizona, approximately 30 to 40 Hashknife Pony Express riders on horseback will enter the stadium for an impressive show as they deliver approximately 20,000 first class letters to a U.S. mail truck set up on the field.
