Description

Training for girls entering 9th-12th grade who wish to volunteer as a mentor at any GSGCF overnight camps. This is not your average CIT program! Girls should expect to explore the wild new pathways to leadership at Camp Honi Hanta during the 2021 CIT Leadership program. During our annual program, Seniors and Ambassadors will develop outdoor adventure leadership skills that will prepare them to work with younger girls in a camp setting. This program is designed so that CITs develop leadership skills through direct supervision, learn how to facilitate these new and existing exciting camp activities, and enjoy a hands-on experience engaging with campers. This program prepares older girls for future work experience, motivates them to be effective role models resulting in a fun and productive leadership experience, and is a great resume builder! Meals will be provided for Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and Sunday breakfast and lunch, as well as snacks. The program will include CPR, AED, and First Aid training and certifications. Additional activities may include, astronomy, night hiking, kayaking, archery, hatchet throwing, low ropes and Girl Scout traditions, just to name a few. CIT Leadership 2021 meets the first step of requirements for the CIT Award. PLEASE NOTE: Registering for this course means you MUST also commit to volunteer for Cadette Leadership Program, which will be held June 11-13, 2021. This training is required for any girl entering 9th-12th grade who wishes to volunteer as a mentor at any GSGCF overnight camps. *Adults, if interested in volunteering for this event, please contact Gina at [email protected].
