The Inver Grove Heights Middle School Students of Color Leadership Club hosted a College and Professional Panel on Zoom to answer student questions. The panel included staff, students, and graduates from multiple local colleges as well as professionals from around Minnesota. Students asked them about their experiences being the first in their family to attend college, what advice they would give to their younger selves, what resources and supports are available to college students, and how they chose their current college or career.
Panelists provided information about scholarships, career centers, where to get help for classes and their job search, and what classes would be available to them once they entered college. Students left with valuable information about resources they could use now, during college, and after college. Panelists also provided helpful tips for successfully navigating college based on their personal experience.
