Oakland County Receives Over 30,000 COVID Vaccine Doses From MI

OAKLAND COUNTY, MI — Oakland County this week received more than 30,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine from the state of Michigan, including more than 2,300 Pfizer doses from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the county said. In all, the state distributed 30,690 total doses of the Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines. FEMA allotted Oakland County 2,340 Pfizer doses, which will be administered by the Oakland County Health Division. According to the county, Oakland County has 1,029,737 residents eligible for the vaccine. As of Sunday, 362,201 people in Oakland County had received their first dose of a vaccine; 203,654 had completed vaccination. There are 217,676 eligible people 65 and older in Oakland County, according to the county. The county reported Tuesday that 149,500 residents have received the first dose of the vaccine, while 105,114 have completed vaccination. Nearly 520,000 doses of the vaccine have been provided to Oakland County by the state. More than 560,000 doses have been allotted to Oakland County overall.
