JOB SUMMARY: The main role of the Express Maintenance Technician is to follow the direction of the Express Maintenance Managers and Express Service Advisors to repair and maintain customer vehicles in a “fixed-right-the-first-time” manner. The scope of work in this position includes, but is not limited to: basic vehicle inspections, tire rotations, oil changes, vehicle battery replacement, wiper blade replacement, and other work as assigned within the parameters of the job level. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Be punctual, dependable, cooperative and able to take direction. Portray a “positive” attitude to customers and all team members. Identify and recommend additional necessary services. All recommendations must be based on immediate need or preventive maintenance. Perform vehicle maintenance work in a professional, consistent and accurate manner. Keep facilities very clean and orderly. Other duties as business demands dictate. Tool Assistance Program: No cost tools are provided to Express Technicians for use at work. Tool & Education reimbursement available. DRESS: Company uniforms as provided. Must present a clean and orderly appearance. Details per Employee Handbook. HOURS: Our service department is open six days a week. Hours will be assigned by the Express Maintenance Manager. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Compliance with applicable safety rules and regulations will be required. While performing the duties of this job, the team member will be occasionally required to work near moving mechanical parts, exposed to fumes or airborne particles, welder’s arc, potential of low voltage shock, and moderate heat during the summer months. The noise level is moderate to high. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Position may require more than eight hours daily and more than five days weekly to complete work assignments Regularly squatting / crouching are required Standing approximately 75-100% of the time Eye protection and non-slip shoes may be required Ability to work in inclement weather including heat index over 105 degrees Must be able to lift 25-75 pounds on a consistent Visual viewing of equipment, instruments, tools, instructions, training items, reports, manuals, procedures and an assortment of printed items Visual requirements for this position are close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AND SAFETY (EHS) REQUIREMENTS Expected to: Actively participate in the adherence of EHS Values and policy statements and accompanying principals. Comply with all department, facility, corporate and regulatory EHS regulations Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE). Report all job-related illness and injuries the day they occur. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Previous experience in a similar position is helpful but not required Good communication skills – listening and speaking Ability to work efficiently and accurately The ability to problem-solve is required The ability to read and follow directions, as well as use and interpret in-house/manufacturer computer systems. Valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to our insurance company. Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
