DEARBORN, MI — More appointments for the COVID-19 vaccine have opened up through May 1 at the Consolidated Vaccination Center in Dearborn, the city announced Tuesday. The vaccination center, located at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Ave., serves Dearborn and six other communities. People eligible for the vaccine can register for an appointment online. People who are 18 and older with medical conditions and those 50 and over are eligible for the vaccine. Beginning Monday, anyone 18 and older can receive a vaccine. Vaccination appointments at the center are reserved for people who live in Dearborn, Dearborn Heights, Inkster, Redford, Allen Park, Garden City and Melvindale, according to a news release issued by the city. The vaccines are the two-dose Moderna shots, the city said. Anyone entering the center must wear a mask. People will be asked to show their ID and will be screened at the door, according to the city. The vaccination center will be open 12 hours a day, Monday through Thursday, beginning April 12, the city said.
