ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — The Rockville Centre Police Department reported the following incidents for the week ending March 29. All charges are merely accusations.
Burglary
On March 24 at 1:35 p.m., a resident of Kensington Avenue reported that while she was out walking her dog, someone broke into her home through the side door and stole several thousand dollars worth of collectable coins and jewelry. Larceny
On March 22 at 3:13 p.m., a Lynbrook resident reported that someone stole cash and a debit card from his unlocked vehicle while it was parked at RVC Sports Complex on Peninsula Boulevard. The debit card was then used to make $211.90 in fraudulent purchases.On March 27 at 1:40 p.m., an Oceanside resident reported his Fuji bicycle was stolen from the bike rack on the corner of Front Street and N.Park Avenue. Criminal Mischief
On March 22 at 11:28 a.m., an employee at Visionworks on Merrick Road reported that a customer became irate when told by management to keep her mask on. The customer then threw a store mirror causing $25 of damage. Arrests
On March 21 at 2:40 p.m., Benjamin P Ramirez, 20, of Rego Park, was arrested by Nassau County Detectives for assaulting his girlfriend at Molloy College on March 11. Ramirez was charged with third-degree assault.On March 24 at 10:56 a.m., Damion Prevo, 46, of Windsor Avenue, Rockville Centre, was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, second-degree obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest during a disturbance at 7-11 on Merrick Road. An officer was injured during the arrest of Prevo, police said.On March 29 at 1:53 a.m., Juan M. Siliezar, 40, of Lee Ave, Rockville Centre, was arrested and charged with third-degree assault following an investigation of domestic violence at his home.
