Furniture Delivery Driver - Full Time

Great American Furniture Warehouse is looking to add a new delivery driver to our team. We are a family owned furniture store that has been selling furniture in Central Oregon since 1980. This position is full time, 40 hours per week. Early mornings or late evenings will be required occasionally. Overtime will be paid on weeks over 40 hours. Pay starts at $16.00 per hour, plus tips during training. Pay is advanced to $17.00 per hour once trained and performing well. Opportunities for $18.00 per hour are also available. The position is open now and we are looking for a candidate who can start right away. Requirements: - VALID DRIVERS LICENSE (CDL is not required) - Clean driving record - Clean background check - Drug free - Professional appearance - Physically capable of lifting and carrying heavy furniture (up to 250 lbs with another person) - Ability to use tools, read directions and assemble furniture - Great personality / customer service skills - Experience driving larger vehicles or box trucks preferred Duties: - Reading/following delivery manifest paperwork - Loading the delivery truck each day for the day's deliveries - Safely taking turns driving the delivery truck with a partner each day - Safely lifting and carrying furniture from truck to inside homes (really heavy items will be lifted and carried with another delivery crew member) - Removal of haul away furniture from customer's homes when needed - Reading/following furniture assembly instructions - Using basic tools to assemble furniture - Maintaining a clean truck cab and box throughout the day - Clean truck of all cardboard and garbage at the end of the day - Helping unload freight trucks into the warehouse as needed. This will require coming to work at 8:00 AM about 2-4 times per month on average. Days/Hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Early mornings or late evenings will be required occasionally.
