Description
Study Name: Prospective Observational Study to Understand Liver Diseases (POSULD)
Where?
POSULD is being conducted at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Department of Medicine by Drs. Michele Tana, Jennifer Price, Emily Crawford and research team. We are seeking HEALTHY individuals who are willing to provide a small blood sample and answer a few questionnaires, approximately once per year. The time commitment would be approximately 20 minutes per year, and the study duration is ongoing.
What is the purpose of this study?
The goal of this project is to learn more about liver diseases, such as genes are involved and what are possible environmental triggers for these conditions. Our research team at UCSF is looking for individuals who do not have any liver disease who can serve as a valuable comparison group in this research. Having a comparison group will help us see differences between people with and without liver disease.
What Do I Need To Do?
Participation in POSULD involves signing a consent form, filling out brief questionnaires, and coming to UCSF for a yearly blood draw. There is no cost to participate, and you will receive a $20-40 gift card and 1-hour parking pass in appreciation of your time.
