How many votes again ??

Our Federal government has declared the number of voters we had in 2020. The government accounting office states that around 158 million votes were cast in the 2020 elections, breaking all the records. Unfortunately, a quick check revealed that in November 2020, we had a grand total of 153 Million REGISTERED VOTERS. So if only 153 Million were registered, but 158 Million voted, I have to ask; How did we gain 5 million voters??
