Scooterworks Chicago (Chicago’s Oldest and Largest Scooter Dealership) specializes in the sales and service of new, used and Vintage Scooters. We have been in business for over 30 years in the Ravenswood neighborhood of Chicago and pride ourselves on creating a working environment that is fun, fast paced and rewarding. We currently have an available position for an Experienced Motorcycle/Scooter Technician. This position requires knowledge and hands-on experience in a variety of Scooters and Small motorcycles. Applicants must be available to work Tuesday through Saturday 10:00am-6:00pm Motorcycle/Scooter Technician RESPONSIBILITIES: • Diagnose and repair a wide variety of new and used scooter systems including: engines, steering, brakes, suspension, manual and CVT transmissions • Conduct test-drives to verify concerns and/or repairs to the vehicles. • Complete service and repair assignments correctly, efficiently and safely. • Communicate directly with the service manager regarding the status of the service work. • Continuously learn new technical information and techniques. • Comply with company safety policies and procedures. • Any other duties as needed by manager discretion. Motorcycle/Scooter Technician REQUIREMENTS: • 2yrs+ experience in repair and servicing of Motorcycles/Scooters. • Must be Punctual and have good organizational skills. • Must be team oriented, flexible and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service. • Must have a working knowledge of shop equipment (such as scan tools, tire equipment, diagnostic equipment, etc.). • Must supply personally owned tools in good working order (specialty tools are provided by the shop). • Should have a strong knowledge of 2 and 4 stroke scooter and motorcycle engines. • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Possible frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds or more. • Must possess a Valid Driver’s License. • Should have a Motorcycle “M” License (or be willing to obtain one upon hiring).
