General Statement of Duties: This position is responsible for installing and supervising the installation of measures as called for on work orders in a safe and timely manner. Examples of Work: • Ensures that materials necessary for completing work orders are loaded on trucks • Participates in and oversees successful completion of work orders • Assigns specific job tasks to specific team members to maximize production • Trains new field staff when necessary • Ensures all measures installed meet appropriate standards • Installs insulation, doors, windows, caulk, weather-stripping, sheetrock, tape and float, and other energy conservation measures called for on work orders • Measures, cuts, and installs glass and wood • Runs the duct blaster • Runs the “blower door” • Correctly completes all paperwork • Maintains a safe work site • Addresses and reports any accidents • Ensures proper work site conduct of team members • Maintains vehicles, tools, and equipment • Must be willing to perform other duties as assigned Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to communicate effectively with people of all socioeconomic backgrounds; must have thorough knowledge of material and installation standards for different agencies and funding sources; must be able to calculate linear feet, square inches, and square feet; must be multi-task oriented; ability to learn and follow company policies and procedures; must be able to travel out-of-town and overnight; ability to motivate employees to work in a safe and efficient manner maintaining quality of workmanship; ability to organize and prioritize work to be performed; ability to lift and carry 20 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds on occasion. Acceptable Experience and Training: Three years of experience in general carpentry or two years of direct experience in Weatherization. Certifications and Licenses Required: Must have a valid Texas driver’s license for 5 years and be insurable at a normal rate. **MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A DRUG TEST AND BACKGROUND CHECK** A pre-employment background check will be conducted. Due to our contractual obligations and the nature of our business, working on clients’ homes, there are several criteria that will disqualify an individual from securing a position with our company: • Having been convicted, or on court-ordered community supervision or probation, for any criminal offense of a Felony 3 or higher of theft, violence, or a sexual crime. • Having been convicted, or on court-ordered community supervision of probation for any other Felony within the last seven (7) years. • Having been convicted, or on court-ordered community supervision or probation, for any criminal offense of a Misdemeanor of theft or violence within the last seven (7) years. • Having a history of criminal activity.
