Description
Mature in attitude/young at heart lead guitar musician needed for Penny Candy oldies band
Penny Candy Band plays music from the late 50s to early 70s primarily in senior living residential environments and we get paid (a little) for it!. The greatest reward is seeing 80+ years old tap their feet, clap, sing along and dance. We play songs by Elvis, CCR, beach music, Motown, Patsy Cline and a variety of music from when you could buy candy for a penny. The band has been together for 2 years and we have a following. We usually play out twice a month, most gigs are on afternoons/evenings of Fridays or Saturdays. We have also played wineries (well, once) and will do more when we have the opportunity and would like to do weddings for older couples.
The Candy Shack (practice room) is near Old Salem and we practice on Sundays from 4-6 pm. Everyone in the band gets along great, no band strife here, it is a democracy because we are honest, respectful of each other and communicate well. Most of all, we have a blast and laugh a lot! If you haven’t played in a band in a while, you’re probably perfect.
No drugs please.
