We are a well established Family owned and operated Granite and marble shop. This is a full time position, Monday - Friday with some occasional Saturdays. We offer a nice benefits package, which includes Insurance, Dental, Vision, Paid time off, and paid holidays. Hourly pay is depending on experience. Would like to find someone with bridge saw background, but we are also willing to train the right person with general machinery knowledge. We are looking to fill this position immediately. Job Overview Produces finished counter tops by programming, setting up, and operating Granite Bridge Saw machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies; maintaining a clean safe working environment; and assist in unloading slab trucks as needed. This position Requires Mandatory overtime, sometimes with very little notice. Responsibilities and Duties * Plans cutting by studying shop tickets, * Programs bridge saw by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, and conditional switches; * Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces. * Sets up splash saw for cutting splash to correct lengths, including miters as required. * Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes. * Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. * Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; assisting with repairs. * Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs * Moves materials with forklift; receiving incoming stock slabs as well as loading and unloading cut rack. Helps to maintain a safe organized stock yard. *Maintains a clean safe working environment; which includes but not limited to emptying granite hopper with forklift; continuous checking and cleaning out of stone recyclable waste container. Working together with fabricators to keep recycle trench clean from debris and flowing properly. * Identifies and labels all materials when finished cutting and before returning the off cut to storage racks. * Assist fabricators in shop area with handling of materials as needed. Qualifications *Must be able to communicate clearly, understand and follow written and verbal instructions * Must have a team player mentality; ability to work well with others. * Ability to read and write English as well as the ability to do simple math using a calculator; working with fractions; and decimals. *Ability to look at stone characteristics and color match; align the flow of grain direction and patterns to provide the best possible seam outcomes * Ability to lift heavy objects periodically throughout the day. * Must be able to pass written and hands on forklift training. * Willingness to adapt to and accept constructive feedback and implement necessary corrections in a timely manner.
