Description of Position • Fundamentals of this position consist of unloading and/or loading all vehicles in a quality manner to deliver a damage free product. II. Qualifications Standards • Individual must have a valid driver’s license and means of transportation to and from work. Must also be a team player and be able to communicate effectively. Additional qualifications include being able to lift 50 lbs. overhead, not afraid of heights and ability to handle no set hours. III. Organizational Relationships • Loader/Unloaders will report directly to immediate supervisor/facility manager/regional manager and/or general manager. IV. Job Requirements / Responsibilities • Wear required uniform (coveralls), head protection, proper shoes, safety glasses, and other safety items as instructed. • Able to climb ladders on rail cars to a height of 16 feet. Be able to gain entry to rail cars by means of the rail car ladder. • Able to remove and replace bridge plates between rail cars at heights of up to 16 feet. • Able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis. • Open and close end doors of rail cars. • Must know how to drive both automatic and manual transmissions. • Physically able to work on your knees while applying or removing tie down devices on vehicles. • Able to work in close quarters while in rail cars. • Safely drive a vehicle on and off a ramp with varying degree of elevation. • Safely drive a vehicle on or off a rail car with limited clearances. • Work in all kinds of weather conditions. Heat, Cold, Ice, Snow, etc. • Available to work any day of the week, including Saturday, Sunday and Holidays as needed. • Available to work irregular hours as needed. (Day, Nights) • Be at least 18 years of age. • Have a valid driver’s license in accordance with insurance company’s requirements. • Submit to and pass a drug/alcohol screening, background check and e-railsafe. • Other tasks as assigned
