Job Description About the Company Substrate Fabrication is a custom design and fabrication company with locations in New York and Los Angeles specializing in the field of retail display, event production, architectural interiors, and pop-up shops. Visit our website at substratefab.com to learn more about what we do. About the Position This is a position for an experienced spray finisher/painter only. We are looking for a confident individual who is ready to hit the floor running with no additional training required. This individual must be available to work a standard shift of Mon-Thurs, 7 am-5:45 pm but must remain flexible to work overtime outside of these hours when required. Duties The spray finisher/painter’s responsibilities will include but are not limited to the safe and efficient finishing of projects as outlined by production staff, whilst adhering to the department’s production schedule. Specifically; • Maintain a safe work environment, adhering to all company policies and procedures • Handle all hazardous material as prescribed by law and by manufacturers' instructions • Use a wide variety of paints, including, but not limited to, automotive, lacquer, latex, polyurethane • Maintain attention to detail and exceptional quality control • Work from drawings, specifications, worksheets, color codes, mixing charts, tables, verbal and written instruction/information • Maintain equipment in top working condition, conduct maintenance as required • Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times • Monitor paint and supplies and advise manager well in advance of the need to order • Assist in evaluating new finishing materials and procedures as required • Consult with production team regarding finishing techniques and workflow • Finish sanding and paint prep Requirements • Ability to work within a team to consistently achieve an exceptional standard of quality • Sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines under pressure whilst maintaining a positive attitude • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Willingness to lead by example • Effectively communicating and remaining professional at all times • Excellent understanding of finishing techniques • Willingness to work overtime and weekends when necessary to deliver the projects on time • MUST BE PUNCTUAL AND RELIABLE Compensation This is a full-time position, paid hourly. Our typical work week is 7:00 am-5:45 pm Mon-Thurs. Employees can expect to work longer hours or an altered schedule at times as project timelines necessitate. A candidate’s rate will be based on experience and skill level.
