Description
I rescued Essex a couple of years ago living off junk food scraps in a Dollar General parking lot.
He decided he liked me well enough but didn't like the idea of being one of more than a dozen cats in my clowder.
So he visited daily to eat and get a little loving, but otherwise we was off on his own.
He is affectionate and sweet with me, lets me kiss him all over the head, and many neighbors recognize and like him.
Everything was going great with my care-free cat.
Then I got a report that dear Essex had mangled a neighbor's chickens and quail.
And had run that neighbors cats up trees to have his way.
I've kept my boy inside since I heard of the situation. I have not yet made contact with the affected neighbor, don't even know where or who it is.
But of course this can't stand. I'm a responsible citizen and respect property rights.
My cat should in no way harm your animals on your property.
And though I love Essex and have always smiled to see him coming up the driveway, I must find him a new home.
I'd like him to have what he has here, a rural home with room to roam, not near a busy road.
And not near chickens or quail or the like.
And I'd like him to have an owner like me, who loves him, to see him smile coming up the driveway.
Looking to see what kind of situations, opportunities are out there that might work for my beloved Essex. He's going crazy staying inside.
