Season: Mid March through mid-October Days: Monday through Friday Hours: part-time, sporadic, (16-20 per week average) Daily Start Time: 8:00 AM Where: Bridgeport CT Home Depot garden center We are Service First Merchandising Inc. a live goods merchandising company. We are contracted by the wholesale plant growers of Home Depot. Our responsibility is mainly (but not limited to): 1. Set up and maintain plant displays 2. Some watering (HD is responsible, but we pick up any slack) 3. Price-sign plant displays 4. Unpack plant deliveries (plants are delivered on rolling cars, no piece-by-piece unloading from the truck) 5. Track and report discarded plants Lifting Requirement: 5-20 pounds per piece on average (high piece counts) Other Physical Requirements: The rolling carts on which plants are delivered must also be pushed or pulled from place to place. The carts roll fairly easy but physical stamina is a must. NOTE: This is a fast-paced job during which there is no down time. Candidates should expect to be on their feet throughout the entire shift. There is NO customer service allowed with this position. 100% of your workday will be spent outdoors and work must be completed regardless of inclement weather. This job is not for clock watchers. You begin work in the morning and work until you are finished. The time FLIES by that way, as opposed to jobs with downtime where you're watching the clock.
