Description
Yet Filbert keeps repeating everything like a wind-up toy. You just have to pity him.
When I think of Filbert, I'm reminded of an incident I once witnessed in Chicago when I lived there. A man and his dog were playing at the edge of a lagoon. Suddenly the dog started running toward the water and, even though his claws were scraping the sidewalk, he couldn't stop and ended up plunging into the water. The man had to go in and pull his dog out to dry land. Bystanders were laughing, it was such a funny scene. Filbert is like that dog. He's got so much momentum, he can't stop himself if he tries.
