Busy privately owned manufacturing company located just off of Highway 2 in Monroe is looking for a General Labor/Grinder. Monday-Thursday 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Our employees like working 4/10 hour days and having a 3 day weekend. May have opportunity for over time. Must be at least 18 and be able to pass a drug test and back ground check. Job Description: Job overview: As a General Labor/Grinder you will be responsible for the following: Grinding and smoothing welds, removing imperfections from surfaces of parts prior to subsequent operations. Required Qualifications: * Good communication skills with positive teamwork attitude. * Conscientious attention to details and accuracy. * Ability to follow directions and or work independently, able to multi-task and trouble shoot. * Remove burs. * Replace worn abrasive disks, wheels and belts. * Examine surface of part for defects and imperfections. * Begin and finish each day with a zero-defect mentality and commitment to producing a quality product. * Select grade of abrasive belt, wheel or disk according to specifications, knowledge of abrasives and conditions of metal and attach to grinder. * Manual dexterity and strength to operate hand tools. * Ability to teach, turn, twist and walk. * Ability to stand for the duration of a work shift. * Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. * Ability to lift 50 pounds at a time. * High school diploma or equivalent or at least 1 year experience. * Possess basic math and reading skills including ability to read and use a tape measure. * Safe work habits. ** Excellent attendance and punctuality. **
