In this introductory lingerie-making course you will learn the essential techniques required to make a wireless bra.
You will learn how to:
Choose appropriate materials and trims
Work with stretch lace and mesh
Apply a variety lingerie elastics
Make adjustable straps
Make pattern and design adjustments to suit your unique needs
We will be making the Lana Bra by Made For Mermaids. Each student will be required to purchase the PDF pattern and project materials before the workshop. Material kits will also be made available for purchase if you prefer not to source supplies on your own. This is an intermediate class. Please be comfortable sewing with stretch fabrics!
Supplies
PDF Pattern
Fabric: 2 Yards Stretch Galloon Lace
Lining: 1/3 Yard Stretch Mesh
Trims: 1.5 yards of plush 3/8 inch picot elastic
1 yard 1/2 inch plush picot elastic for band
1 1/4” yards strap elastic. 1/2 or 3/4” wide
1 set ring and sliders (2 rings & 2 sliders) in the same width as your strap elastic.
Hook and eye closure- 2 row (Cup size A-C) or 3 row (cup size D-G)
Matching Thread
Your Basic Sewing Kit- Shears or Rotary Cutter, Silk Pins, Stretch Sewing Needles
**Sewing Machines will be provided but feel free to bring your own if you prefer.
About the Instructor
Tricia Padich began her career as an intimate apparel designer when she graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology with a BFA in fashion design. After a few years working in the corporate fashion industry she decided to launch Gamine Studios where she could combine her two passions of making lingerie and teaching. At her studio space in EaDo, she works on her made-to-order lingerie line in addition to teaching a variety of sewing classes.
