Join Candice Hart, Floral Designer and Horticulturist, as she teaches the principles and elements of floral design! Location: Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden's Garden Pavilion 4:30 – 5:15 pm: Social time w/ hors d’oeuvres & cocktails 5:15 – 6:20 pm: Presentation by Candice Hart 6:20 – 6:40 pm: Intermission/departure for presentation-only participants 6:40 – 8:00 pm: Hands-on floral design workshop* *To attend, please select Presentation + Hands-On Workshop. Space is limited. Join Candice Hart, Floral Designer and Horticulturist, as she teaches the principles and elements of floral design while creating beautiful, garden inspired floral arrangements. Candice will share tips and tricks for creating breathtaking floral designs to enjoy in your own home all year round. The evening will begin with hors d’oeuvres and cocktails while enjoying Klehm’s gardens and socializing with guests and Candice. Following Candice’s floral presentation and a brief intermission, guests who have pre-registered for an additional hands-on workshop with Candice will create their own floral arrangement to bring home. About Candice Candice Hart, CFD, ICPF is the Owner of Pollen and Pastry, a bakery and event florist in Bloomington, IL. Candice completed a Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture and a Master’s Degree in Ag Education, both from the University of Illinois. She holds the designation of Certified Floral Designer and Illinois Certified Professional Florist, and is serving as President of the Illinois State Florists Association. Candice currently lives in Bloomington, Illinois where she loves working in her own cut flower gardens. She grows numerous cut flower varieties for use in her weddings, as well as for selling at the Downtown Bloomington Farmer’s Market. PLEASE NOTE: Pre-registration is required. Walk-in registrations the day of the event cannot be accepted.Due to limited capacity, ticket registrations are limited to 2 tickets per purchase.This event will be held in the Garden Pavilion near the west end of Klehm's parking lot. Please dress accordingly to be in an outdoor covered tent for this event, with time to explore Klehm's gardens during the social hour and intermission. Restroom access will be a short walk away from the Garden Pavilion. Layers and potential rain gear are recommended. In the event of severe weather, the event location may change to the Gallery inside of the Visitors Center. All event participants will be notified by email of any changes in location prior to the event.Klehm will be following the current State of Illinois COVID-19 guidelines at the time of the event and will notify all event participants prior to May 12th by email of any requirements that may be in place at that time. Please plan to have a face covering at the event for use when social distancing is not possible or for indoor restroom use.
