Description
MARBLEHEAD, MA — The Abbot Public Library will begin offering half-hour browsing sessions by appointment starting on April 8. The library said it is making the change to allow the public into the building based on results from a recent survey. The browsing appointments will be available on Thursdays. Curbside pickup will remain available five days per week. The 30-minute appointments will be Thursdays from 10 a.m. to noon and 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Areas will be sanitized after each appointment session. Appointment registration will begin on April 1. Those browsing will be required to wear a mask they provide and gloves, which will be provided to them. Browsing is open for areas where there are new and recent additions to the library. All appointments are specific to one section — children's teen or adult. Those looking to browse multiple areas must make an appointment for each area. Up to four adults and four children/teens will be allowed in each area at one time. For the adult section on the main level, appointment registration can be done by calling 781-631-1481 Ext. 201 or 223 or by emailing [email protected]. For the children's room, contact 7810631-1481 Ext. 217 or 237 or by emailing [email protected]. For the teen room, contact [email protected]. Starting April 8, curbside pickup will be Monday through Wednesday from 2 to 5:30 p.m., Wednesdays 10 a.m. to noon, Fridays from 2 to 5:30 p.m., Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and Saturdays 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Additional details on library services can be found here.
