SANDWICH, MA — Three people will face charges after a fight broke out on the side of a Sandwich road stemming from road rage, police said. Around 12:45 p.m., Sunday, Sandwich and Massachusetts State Police were called to Chase Road near the on-ramp to Mid-Cape Highway after reports of a fight. Upon arrival, police said they found three cars involved in the incident. A 32-year-old Connecticut woman told police she was being tailgated by a man driving a GMC Canyon. The driver, a 30-year-old East Falmouth man, told police the woman, driving a Nissan Altima, was brake checking him. Police said both parties got out of their cars near the on-ramp and started yelling at each other. Then, the 27-year-old brother of the woman, driving a Jeep Cherokee arrived. Police said the man, also from Connecticut, got out of the car and struck the East Falmouth man in the face. The East Falmouth man suffered serious facial injuries and was evaluated by the Sandwich Fire Department. Police said the Connecticut woman and the East Falmouth man will be summoned into court and charged with negligent operation of a motor vehicle. The Connecticut man will be charged with assault and battery.
