Description
The following is a declaration of candidacy from Danvers Library Board of Trustees candidate Joe Younger to Patch ...
DANVERS, MA — Please vote for me for Library Trustee.
I graduated from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and served in the US Army in Korea. I am retired from my sales management company, Conti-Younger. My wife and I have lived on the North Shore for most of our lives and in Danvers for the past 20 years.
Danvers is a very caring and supportive community, and I would like to continue to be a part of that support. I can contribute my life's work and volunteer experiences through what I have learned working with people and town governments.
In Danvers, I have been a town meeting member, a planning board member and a member of the municipal electric board. I am a past president of the Danvers Historical Society and the Rotary Club.
Before that I was a Wenham selectman, assessor and finance board member. I am still active as a tour guide at the Peabody Essex Museum and as a SHINE counselor for seniors needing medicare help.
I am a co-founder of the Hamilton Acord Food Pantry. I have been a court-appointed mediator. I am a member of the Friend of the Peabody Institute Library of Danvers, one of the best libraries in Essex County.
If elected a trustee, I will continue to find ways to help make this excellent institution better by assisting and guiding its progress forward.
