A two part workshop on how to easily build a low-maintenance composting system to create healthy, organic, fertile soil for your garden. Wanna learn how to compost the easy way? Hands-on workshop will give you the basic experience necessary to build your own composter. As well as the foundational experience necessary to start composting.A portion of the composting setups we will be building will be donated to local schools and non-profits. Essentials of SUCCESSFUL, low-maintenance composting for the home garden or farm.Presentation by local composting experts on the soil fertility and easy composting methods.The event will be split up into two parts: First, on Sunday morning April 24th from 9:00AM - 11:00AM, a two-hour Zoom presentation and Q-&-A on composting and soil fertility. We will present to you information on how to be successful at composting without too much effort. The second part, taking place outdoors, in person, in Makawao on Saturday and Sunday afternoon April 24th and 25th from 3:00PM - 5:00PM, will be the hands-on, fun, & easy procedure of building composters together. We will show you simple techniques using basic home improvement tools and off-the-shelf supplies from any hardware store to build your own low-maintenance composter affordably. Please re-read and understand that there are two parts to this workshop. There is a hands-on part taking place either Saturday or Sunday from 3:00-5:00pm depending on which ticket you buy. EVERYONE who signs up will be on a Zoom call together Saturday morning from 9:00-11:00AM. Doing it this way allows us to teach larger workshops and still stay within the county's restricted gathering rules. Bring snacks, water, sun glasses for eye protection, clothing you feel comfortable in while working outside in the sun, and close-toed shoes as we will be working with power tools! We are following all safety guidelines. Therefore, we are only offering an extremely limited number of slots for this workshop. Reserve your spot now.
