Responsible Senior Seeking a Pet In Need of TLC.

Hello folks: I am now retired and also a widower and I would like to find either a bird or an older, small female Chihuahua in need of TLC....and by the way, to me birds and dogs were ever a hobby, but truly a way of life! I realize there are animal shelters out there and I have called them before and I was told 'no birds now' and if there was a Chihuahua available I was told she was gone already....and I live far from these places and can not be running around and driving for nothing...so this is why I am posting here now in case there is a kind soul out there who will read my post.
