NEW HAVEN, CT — A New Haven man was arrested on accusations that he burglarized a restaurant, according to police. Angel Acosta, 38, was charged with third-degree burglary, possession of burglary tools, sixth-degree larceny, interfering with an officer, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said he was arrested following a foot pursuit in Wooster Square early Friday morning and was found in possession of burglary tools and stolen property. Police initially responded to a security alarm at 100 Wooster St. just after 3:30 a.m. Friday. Tre Scalini Ristorante has 100 Wooster St. listed as its address. A patrol officer arrived to find Acosta walking away from the business. The officer attempted to stop Acosta, but he began to run, according to police. Police caught Acosta on Chapel Street and took him into custody. He was found in possession of restaurant property, drug paraphernalia, as well as a pry bar, a flashlight, and a knife.Security footage revealed that Acosta stole several items from the restaurant where he entered after hours. Acosta is being held on $100,000 bail. The Wooster Street burglary is similar to several recent, over-night commercial burglaries that remain under investigation, police said.
