WATSONVILLE, CA — A pilot and passenger were unharmed after a Sunday afternoon plane crash that resulted in a small fire, the sheriff's office said.
The plane crashed around 2:15 p.m. in Watsonville around Harkins Slough Road and Lee Road, the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office said.
The fire was sparked after the plane hit power lines. Pacific Gas & Electric Co. responded to the scene, as did deputies, the sheriff's office said. There were no significant outages in the city as of Monday morning.
The cause remains under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board, the sheriff's office said.
